Petered out 90 Bronc
My wife was driving the bronco to work when it stopped running. I got the phone call that there was a sound like the truck dropped something from the rear end and then it went out. She had it towed to the hospital where she works.
Well come to find out she drove it for about 1 mile after that sound and it didnt just stop, it petered out slowly (like outta gass). I think she was associating that noise with the slop from going up and downthe hills here in pittsburgh.
Anyways got it home will crank but wont catch. pulled the codes and got 21 26 24 in that order. when i looked it up it read like parameters were out of range (not warmed up). And another thing. When i put the key in and turn to On the Fuel pump now makes a muffled whir whereas before it was more high pitched and louder.
I am assuming for now it is the fuel pump and am going to put it in this weekend. The sending unit was out and I get tired of using the odometer method.
Anymore suggestions.
