I bought an '05 F150 FX4 4x4 in July 2005. I have had nothing but trouble from the first week owning this thing. It started missing at 700 mi, then the a/c was not cold, then the cam pulley had to be replaced, then water was leaking in my front passenger floorboard because the a/c hose was missing ( I'm assuming it was never installed to begin with), a vibration was consistent with each trip back to the dealer and my tires were balanced twice. Then I took it in back in early January for noisy injectors, a miss, the vibration and 4x4Low inop. The dealership put a new rear end in, but it miraculously didn't miss for them and the 4x4 worked fine. I picked it up a week later and drove it about 3 mi and took it right back and it has been there ever since (44 days and counting). The dealership tried new tires for the vibration and it made it worse. I've read on here a lot of people have had this problem too.
I have lemon law paper work filed with the BBB and I've been calling FMC at least twice a week. They put in a request to do a vehicle buy-back on February 9 and said I would hear from somebody in 2-5 days. On the 5th day I called once again and then it was i would hear something next week. Today I called and they say it is a sticky situation because the GMs have changed during all of my problems. A supervisor is supposed to call me back today or tomorrow, but I'm sure I will be making another call to them tomorrow afternoon when I don't hear anything back.
Can anyone offer me any advice? I thought it was the manufacturers responsibility not the dealerships once the request for vehicle buy-back had been filed.....
What state do you live in? You should write a letter to the DLB in your state. I know in Colorado your truck has to be down for 30 days or more for the same problem or have four attemps to be fixed in one year. I am having the same problem but it is with a jeep, and the only help I have got is from the DLB (dealer licenceing Board) Before you file a complaint I would tell the G.M. of the ford store that you are going to do so, you would be amazed in what they will do to stop you from contacting the DLB. And make sure you have all your R.O.'s if you have to go to court. Hope this helps you! good luck!
Thanks for your replies. If they end up repurchasing it I will be switching brands for good. I have had 2 rangers and 2 mustangs before, but this experience has soured me on ford altogether
The GM from the dealership just called me today. Now he says he talked to a resolution specialist with FORD and they have sent an offer to the BBB on 2/17/06. It is now 2/23/06 and I still haven't heard anything. I'm really getting ticked from all this waiting and not knowing anything.
Yesterday I called my case specialist with the BBB and of course she was away from her desk so I left a message with no response so I called again today. Today she is in training, so I left another message which I will probably not get a return call from either. Who do you complain about the BBB to?
