Cool Explorer Rear Spring Angle Brackets Backwards?

I'm really upset. Ok I"M PISSED. I just spent 450$ for a stupid rear spring install at TC's Offroad 4X4 in Kent, Washington because of some broken rusted bolts. Insane price huh? They said they had to cut off the rivets on the front brackets to get to the broken bolts and they replaced the rivets with regular bolts and nuts. This is fine with me even with the expense because I broke the old rusted spring bolts hehehe. BUT, I am having an extreme angle on my driveshaft. This is only a 1 to 2" lift so why is this driveshaft at such an extreme angle? I Believe they might have put in the "TAPERED ANGLE SPACERS" backwards which is causeing the extreme angle on the CV Driveshaft. You know, that tiny little rectangle spacer that is thick on one side and thin on the other? So my question is:

Which way are the TAPERED ANGLE SPACERS supposed to be installed? The Thick side towards the driver or towards the rear?

It's an easy fix for me to do myself now I just need to remove the U-Bolts and reverse them if they are backwards. Needless to say I'm never going back to TC's Offroad 4x4 in Kent ever again. Thanks for any help.

Usually they have the thick side toward the rear, so it points the pinion up some. The main thing is that the front and rear u-joints are operating at angles within 3* of each other so it doesn't vibrate. The shim can be installed either way... whatever is necessary to accomplish this.

Smile Thanks so much

Yup. They installed the thick side towards the driver (front). BACKWARDS!!!! So now I have to fix this before I go to work. I can't believe a professional 4x4 shop would be so non detail oriented. Oh well. Thanks so much for the quick response. Even though I plan on getting a double cardan in the future, I really don't need to be stranded half way to work with a broken CV driveshaft. I'm just glad this is all that is wrong with it.

Take care and much appreciated again!!!!
