I have been thinking of getting an electric exhaust cutout and this seems to be the best one for the money:

Honestly - I wouldn't even worry about a cutout - I would just straight pipe it to start off with...
These engines aren't that loud until you REALLY put your foot down.

3" not 3.5" that is one problem.
