Explorer rear discs

I'm installing a '97 Explorer rear with discs. I ordered front disc adapters from Engineered Components along with 2 - 2 psi check valves. I was told that it was near impossible to get any braking action out of the rear without a monster power booster or a line amplifier. Has anyone installed Explorer discs and had a problem getting enough braking in the rear? If so, what remedy did you use? I've considered going to swinging pedals and a disc/disc master and booster. I have plans of installing an SHO motor with Aerostar trans. in the future but will doo all now if I have to modify the pedals.

Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to try the brakes out yet, but I also have an Explorer rear disc set up. I consulted with Stainless Steel Brakes Corp. when I did the install since they sell an Explorer type set up for Mustangs. I'm running a dual diaphram booster, Corvette (disc/disc) master cylinder, 2lb residual valves, and a proportioning valve to the rear lines. SSBC said that I should have no problem at all and it should stop very well.

I would assume if you do something similar you will have good results. Good Luck - Brad

Thanks. I'll look into the parts. It sounds like what I've been looking for. Rob
