Dana 60 swap?
I have an 1979 f250 that has a Dana 44 front axel. I am going to change it out for a 1979 Dana 60. Will my current U bolt brackets that rest on the bottom of the axel tube work for the Dana 60? The brackets are cast specific to the outside diameter of the Dana 44. Does the Dana 60 have the same outside diameter? I know this is a very common swap, so I'm sure many of you have encountered this issue. Your help is greatly appreciated.

The D60 will have a larger diameter tube so the D44 bolt brackets should not fit. I believe I still have the D60 brackets floating around somewhere that I was planning to put on ebay. If you need a set let me know.

have you bought the dana 60 yet? I know with mine they threw in the mounting brackets with the axle. You will most likely need at least 2 of the longer u-bolts as well if yours were cut down to the nut.
