hey,
i am looking into redoing the interior of my 79 ford pickup f-150 and need a little help/advice. I would like to replace the door panels and am wondering if any later year door panel would fit except for the 73-79 years. I'm also looking into replacing the seats and am wondering if the mounts are the same for more recent pickups. Thats it for now. Thanks 79monster
Hi
I just got my new LMC (lmctruck.com) cat yesterday and they have lots of interior parts for the older Fords. I have gotten parts from them for my Chevys before and the quality is great. I just started doing a 70 F-250 and therefore ordered the LMC cat for it also. As for the seat-Mine has a later model seat in it now and the fit sucks. I found an original for the 250 and plan on haveing it recovered.
Hope this might help a little
Dave
[font color=red size=2]Only 73-79 panels will interchange. There was a thread about making custom panels a while ago, try the search feature. Also may want to ask at an upholstery shop or auto custom shop about covering your panels or making new custom ones.
A seat is an easy upgrade. Seats will interchange from mid-60's all the way up to '96. Get a seat out of a newer F-series pickup that has a solid bottom (not split bench or buckets) and it will bolt to your exhisting seat bracket. Buckets or split bench will work, but will require custom mounts, not a direct bolt-in swap.

My 76 F-150 has a bench seat from a late 80's pick-up in in right now and the seat works great. From what i can tell, the seat bolted in with no modifications to the cab whatsoever. As far as the mounts on the seat, i couldn't help you since i didn't install the seat myself.

There are a number of people who make door panels for 73 - 79; JC Whitney, Auto Krafters, etc. They are available in most colors, BUT NOT GREEN. I've found vinyl and plastic paint for them in all colors but green. Hope your interior isn't green like mine.
