On my 1978 F150 with a 300 six cylinder 4x4 has a problem accelerating up hills. We finally got it running and it runs great when its level ground but when we stop at a stop sign and go up a hill we have it to the floor and i cant get over 20 miles per hour up a 30 to 45 degree slope. if you could help me out it would be great, thanks.

my neighborhood is on that slope along with my driveway. also the road behind my neighborhood is on that steep of a slope. all i want to know is what could cause my truck not to accelerate when i have it to the floor. i dont have a problem with any of my other cars. thankyou
[font color=red size=2]Does it idle good? Does it seem to miss or just lack of power?
I would start with a tune-up. If it hasn't been done recently I would change the spark plugs, cap and rotor, fuel filter, air filter. Check the timing, the vacuum advance and the mechanical advance. All those things can cause you to lose power.
