Chatter in front end
03 f350 dually, The front end had a chatter to it. I have had dealer check front wheel bearings and repacked- Didnt help. Bought new monroe self adjusting gas shocks (self adjusting) and it helped somewhat. It wasnt as severe. I checked the bearings myself and found, What seemed to be way to loose. The wheels actually had slight play in them. What is the correct torque for the front bearings? Seemed to help a little more...Then I tightened the adjuster on the steering box 1/2 turn and It seemed to much but It wont back out now to loosen! It did relieve the chatter some more but the steering is to tight . Its had to drive on the highway..How do you loosen it? Any secrets? Any ideas?
