1. does anyone know the cc dish rating on the silvolite 1131's? the kbsilivolite site doesn't list the cc dish rating so i figured one of you fella's would know.
2. Has anyone ever used an EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp) gauge on their motor? we're thinking of getting one ($135 i think) to keep an eye on my 390 since i burnt my seats last time from too much timing...good insurance? I understand how to set up the initial, mechanical and vacuum adv timing but i want to be sure and keep an eye on things.
8cc, Imo, the FE's seem like their egt would be high. You paint the port's and within no time they are a whitish color. I have experienced all the related bs also. I personaly wouldn't spend money on the egt, but maybe on an air/fuel monitor.
oh ok how does the air/fuel monitor hook up? i'm pretty sure aluminum starts melting at 1300 degrees so i'm thinking around 800-900 is good? who knows?? anyone?
Autometer narrow band for around $85 gets you a gauge and O2 sensor then you need a $6 bung and weld it in. Better yet a wide band like Innovate Motorsports but then your at the $350 range.
