I recently replaced the turn signal cam (switch) in the steering column. I searched many junk yards and was unable to find one for an 78 F250 Crew Cab. I ended up ordering it from FORD. When I went to drive the truck that night, I had no instrument lights or tail lights. The side marker lights are also inop. I have chased wiring diagrams and can't seem to find the problem. The 1st fuse is not getting any power to it. Any suggestions???
If you had headlights but nothing else, it sounds like the headlight switch went bad. If you didn't even have headlights, there may be a wire that came loose somewhere.
Dave,
79 F-150 4x4, 390 w/C6, Edelbrock carb, 33X12.50 never will be finished.
Check and make sure that the plug on the headlight switch is on tightly. Both these circuits go thru the headlight switch. The side markers are "tapped" off the parking light circuit.
Is a 78 crewcab turn signal switch special? I thought all 78 turn signal switches, in fact all 73-79 I think, were identical regardless of F150, F250, F350, crewcab, supercab, 4x4 etc etc.
Sparky
ps
What do you mean no power on the 1st fuse??
