old ford

Well on sat I finished fixing a old dirt bike and took it for a test ride.I went down a trail behind my shop and was forced to stop because the road was flooded, when I stopped I saw this car that has been there for god knows how long it is upside down and the only way you could tell it was a car was because of the frame almost everything else was rusted away,so I started looking around and found what I think was the trunk lid and on was a badge that said fordomatic well I ripped the sheet metal by hand and took it then I started to dig around and found the drivers side door buried under like 6" of dirt and found that it to still had a badge on it.It said customline on it,I need to go back with some tools to get that one.Anybody know was this car might be and close to what year it might be.It was a four door and thats about all you can tell it still has the rear in it and looks to be in good shape considering what the rest of the car looks like.

Thats it it still has the bird looking thing on the trunk lid maybe when the weather is a little nicer I will go digging around and see if I can find anything else maybe the hood ornament the area is pretty much swamp and there is not much left of the sheet metal thanks Rich for moving this to the right forum.

Anybody know if the rear could be a nine inch it has a removable center section that really looks to be worth taken.

Sounds like a pre '57 Ford, I know for a fact the '57 did not have the FordOMatic emblems (my '57 is a Ford-O), it won't have a 9" rear unless it was installed by a later owner, the 9 inch rear did not appear until 1957. If it is a '54, then the rear is not really desirable, except maybe to a restorer.

Thanks for the heads up Gary I think it is a pre 57 car it looks like the 54 Grease monkey posted from ebay but I'm still going to go digging around and see what I can find. The trunk was there but I doubt the hood is because the drive line is long gone. after I got the chunk of trunk back to my shop the nuts that hold the emblem on came off like they where put on there yesterday but tapping it out of the sheet metal it broke between the R and D in ford.
