im trying to decide how to mount my front eyeletts of my leaf sas, and i just cant figure the best way to do it. i thought about mounting them back like / from my bumper, but want to see how someone else made it work. i need to be about as far foward as posiible, but i dont want to go straight down with them l . pictures anyone?
Well I dont have any pics because I havent made one yet, but this is what my front hangers will look like. You can do womthing similar, but your bolt holes that bolt onto the frame wont have to be where mine are in the design. I dont know if the 88's had the front of hte frame boxed in or not... If it doesnt then get some C-channel and box the front in the SAME WIDTH as your leaves will be. That way you wont have to puit a bend in the metal like my design. My truck has the front boxed in and the frame is 3" while the leaves are 3.5" with the bushings...
Edit: clearing hte crossmember will be a bigger issue than the 35's.
My design gives 6" of lift on a 93-94 F350 but I cant say how much it would give you. I would design your own and not use my measurements...
Edit 2: how much lift would you get from swapping IFS w/ coils to a SAS w/ leaves

Raw's design is pretty much an elongated version of what was stock in the 70's. However much lift you need up front, just make it longer like Ivan, pro, ramboss, and others have done. Beef up your front end, maybe cross brace the brackets as well.
Take a look in my gallery of the old lift and the new stuff i'm building, might give you an idea, oh and i've boxed the front frame rails and added an additional crossmember in addition to the shackle mount/bumper.
I think for what you are needing to do, the first link I sent you will be your best bet. I still have to box my frame rails and do some other tweakin on my setup.
