I recently recieved a $30 gift card to amazon, and thought I could spend it on some reading material for the Bronco. I already have a Haynes manual, body work books, and a Windsor performance book. I was wondering if anyone out here has some good reading material that is handy. I'd like a general performance type book, but I know most are geared twords Mustangs and either carbed models or MAF stuff (my Bronco has speed density). Anyway, any good titles would be appreciated.
i would recomend "Ford Fuel Injection & Electronic Engine Control" by Charles O. Probst. i bought this book at B&N and it was prolly the best $35 i spent on my bronco. this book explains how and WHY the ford fuel injection works, has lots of how-to's, and Do_NOT'S, also has a list of the trouble codes, wiring diagrams, and more information than i could ever abosorb into my head.
"How to Tune and Modify Ford Fuel Injection" By Ben Watson. (ISBN - 0-7603-0503-X any bookseller can crossreference this number to get the book for you) Its part of the Motorbooks Powertech Series. Similar to the publication JetBlackBronco described in his post. Covers every EEC-IV code and describes the different meanings they have from model to model and engine to engine. Gives detailed test procedures along with what I like to call a "sensors for dummies" section that explains the function and the parameters of each sensor that the system uses. Pin-out listings of every EEC-IV computer ever produced. All this along with tips and tricks for modifying and not messing things up while remaining "emissions legal".
