nope i checked.. not a trace of coolant close enough to it and not a drop any where on it. theres some on the damper tho. and on either side on acc's. but i checked the hoses there good to go. can the seal on the pump get ruptured by ice?

Check the water neck for cracks. Coolant can get trapped in/above the thermostat and in that small quantity (and if its been in there a while) can freeze and crack it. Water pump itself may have cracked too.

Get it someplace where you can work on it.....its way too cold out to try to do it caveman style in the driveway. Clean it up a bit and then pressure test the system.......just keep your fingers crossed that it is not a major problem
