Potentialy the most sought after 4x4 ever

flash, that was the way i saw it. look at any offroad mag, mostly jeep parts, and almost all articles have to do with jeeps. they have been around forever, and are very versitile. oh, and 94, i share my side of the block with a bank, so no direct neighbors, so i got half a block pretty much, they only care if i start puttin stuff right in front of the bank.

If you asked my neighbors, probably a Mercedes G-Wagon or a BMW X5.
Me?
The old Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser's are bringing stoopid money. Couple of companies are remanufacturing them.
A Land Rover Defender has to be on someone's list.
Let's not forget 1st generation Broncos. Northwest Auto Fabs in Albany, Or will make a new for you too, if you'd like.

For some reason, "most sought after" and "jeep" don't add up to me. Sure, Jeep is the most popular 4X4 I see on the road but that doesn't make it the "most sought after". How could it? If I want one, I can choose from thousands. When you buy something like an Early Bronco, their aren't thousands to choose from. Jeeps are popular with off-road enthusiasts but IMO it's because there are a lot of aftermarket parts and they are cheap to operate. Bone stock, a jeep is slightly better than a suzuki samari. A stock Early Bronco will walk all over it.

I like the 69-87 GM variety as parts are a dime a dozen and those trucks are tough as nails. I also like the 73-86 F series, not sure if 86 was the last year of the real boxy style but didn't care much for the early 90's style. I guess I just like those older trucks but GM and Ford sure seemed like they had a good Tit for Tat thing goin. Lets be honest, all the old dodges were ugly as hell!!! schmidty dog

Around here if you go to any mud runs, I'd say 10 out of 50 trucks are the late 70's Broncos, and another 10 are the late 70's F series Fords. You see a few mid 80's Chevy's and they seem to have problems often. Then you have a fella with a turbo 2.3 in his Ranger 4x4... and then another guy with a 351 in a Bronco II. I'm actually helping a guy build a mud truck right now. Its a Ranger body on a half ton frame with a 460 and 429 heads. She's pretty nice...
You also will see a CJ5 or 7, but the 5 seems to have trouble always and the 7 makes it through pretty nice. I think out of 4 years of attending the local mud runs, I have seen 2 Dodges. One was a 2003 2500 with a Cummins, and the other was a 96 1500 with the 318.
