I plan on changing out my dash lights to the colored lights as discribed in a previous post. Any one know how many bulbs are in there before i disassemble the dash? Thanks
The instrument cluster has 12 bulbs with seven of them illuminating the upper panels - directional signal arrows, etc. There is also one bulb illuminating the wiper and headlight panels.
I couldnt find the exact previous post. It deals with the dim dashlights and how to make brighter. THe bulbs are GE 194 G for green other colors available also. I havent tried at parts places yet. Someone also said the LEDs werent any good because you couldnt dim them.
Be sure and remove the blue plastic bulb covers in the cluster. You need to remove the gauges to get at them; don't just punch them out from the back side and leave them to rattle around. Wal-Mart carries some of the colored bulbs.
Thanks for the info guys, sure has come in handy. Not knowing anything about colored instrument lights, any thoughts or reasons for a paticular color. I have two trucks and am thinking blue lights for blue truck and red lights for red truck.
Thanks again.
