cab/clearance lights

Has anyone put cab or clearance lights on there newer trucks?
Ive put lots on older 79-89 trucks but it looks a little harder for my 02- F-350
Im not worried about the roof placement as that only involves being careful and measuring.
Its the wiring and the roof liner Im worried about.
Also finding some good aftermarket lights.

That is the catch me, a lot of the newer trucks (say 80s at least) have a two wall system with foam in between up front so you have to mount the lights farther back towards the middle of the cab and take the head liner down to do it.

I looked it up in the 2002 manual. They say to get to the factory lights, you do have to take the headliner down. They show two little nuts you have to get to underneath each light.

As far as getting the headliner down, I quickly looked over the procedure, and it looks no different than cars I have worked on. I have done several cars, where the headliner foam rots, and you have to take the headliner shell out and get new foam installed. The procedure is the same for the new trucks. You pretty much have to take everything loose, and pull the headliner down. This will include the dome lighting, the sunvisors, the trim around the doors, etc.

The cars I have done are a pain, and you usually break a few plastic clips along the way, but there is not other way to do it. You may be able to just take the front loose and pull it down a little bit, and reach around to do the work required to install the lights. If you got some aftermarket lights where the lense came off from the outside, you would not need to get into the headliner anymore if a bulb goes out.

Try doing a search in the diesel 99-2003 forum, as I remember quite a few people talking about it, vaguely remember some one posting some install instructions.

try this link....http://www.emotoman.com/f250/lights/f250lights.htm --If it doesn't work goto the Superduty Forum and then do a search for "clearance lights" there you will find over 200 threads on roof clearance lights. Plenty of info there.
