When I went to start it today, It took a few times, I then waited and it started right up. Then today on the way home died. It felt like the key was just turned off. I first thought CPS, so I went to International and got a blue one and slapped it in. No luck. I then tried to clear the codes with the battery disconect, but still nothing. No check engine light came on or anything. Any Ideas on what else it could be? Its an early 99, could it be not liking the blue cps and need a stock one? Thanks.
Is the fuel pump cycling with the key that you can hear? It the PCM self testing when you turn the key on (SES light cycles normally)? Fuel filter clean? All fuses good? Smoke while cranking?........
Im not sure on the Fuel pump cycling, Ive never heard it before. SES lights? If you are talking about all the dummy lights, yea they all seem to come on. The fuel filter is 4 months old or so, I didnt pull it out to check it though. I did look under the dash at the fuses and they all looked good to me. The truck is not here now, Its resting a few miles away waiting for cpr. Could the fuel filter clog up that fast?
Well I went and looked at it again, and it looks like something burst. There it a little spray on the firewall, on the rubber air intake hose, and all over where the ccv thing is, and down the side of what looks to be a valve cover. Is there a line around the center of the motor that could burst and not let the truck restart? I tried to crank it to see if it sprayed, but I didnt see anything. Thanks.
Well Day 2 at the dealer.................The mechanic figured out it was a fuel problem on the left side. When the truck came in it had 200#s of pressure, and the right slide had 1500#, so the problem was with the left. He tore the valve cover off, and Im not quite sure what else was done, but the truck starts. Hes at a loss, and if it doesnt act up again, Im out of luck.......Nothing was fixed. The total so far is 4 hours labor

Ok I just looked at this post again. 200 psi on one HPOP rail and 1500 on the other side? I'm not experienced enough with PSD's to be able to counsil you, but the first thing that I would look at is the HPOP it'self. One hose comes out of one port on the thing and the other comes out of the other port and one of each goes to the cylinder head.
Ok came to me in the middle of writing this post: How about a torn upper injector o-ring. That would bleed a lot of pressure off, no smoke, and it would spill into the valve cover area. Maybe that's what he was checking for when he pulled the valve cover.
