How long did it take for you guys to get your injectors back? Also what do I need to do to prepare for putting them back in? Do I need to fill the hpop or will it fill on its own when you try to start it? What about the fuel? Thanks!!

Also what do I need to do to prepare for putting them back in? just make sure you got oil and filters. a battery charger, little funnel to refill hpop, jumper cables, another vehicle to jump you, req tools.Do I need to fill the hpop or will it fill on its own when you try to start it? What about the fuel?it will but it takes a little while. Thanks!!

If you are sending them in, then your stock ones are modified, right? How much $$$ to have a set modified?

What do a new set of stage one injectors cost?

Hey guys I'm lookin to get some stage ones, hopefully for a smoking deal.I've got a buddy willing to let me take the injectors out of a spent 7.3.So between my injectors and the ones from my buddy I'll be able to send them two sets. Now for the ????s How do I pull the injectors? It looks like I have to remove the rockers and there are four bolts holding the injectors in?The spent 7.3 is out of the truck so I'll start with the easy ones first.Any help is appreciated.Thanks.Dave

you dont need to take rocker arms off. First pull vc gasket off and get it out of the way. Next using an allen wrench remove the oil deflector spouts n the side of the injector, sorry i dont remember what size they are however they are metric. Then using i belive an 8mm socket remove the bottom injector hold down bolt. Slide hold down up and place a flat prybar under the top of the hold down, carefully pry injectors loose. My method may not be perfect but its worked for me 10+ times now . Make sure that before you put new injectors back in your engine that you get all of the fuel/ oil out of your cylinders so you dont hyralock engine.

Yea!! They finally came in yesterday. I have allready sucked out as much fuel and oil out of the cylinders as I can. A friend that used to work on the big diesels said to pull the glow plugs while the injecters are out and crank it over to expell what is left in there. Is this a good idea? Is there a fuse I should pull so it dont pump fuel?

Fordguy, yes I sent mine in to be modified $675.00. (stage ones)
One plunger and barrel assembly $60.00
Six nozzels replaced, clogged $210.00
S&H $25.00
For a total of $970.00

no..
re install injectors. pull glow plugs. turn over by hand with vc's on with 24mm socket on front of crank. you will hear it push out of gp holes. then with #9 maxi fuse pulled crank engine over a few times with key. pull vc's off and reinstall glow plugs. reinstall vc's and try the long task of getting her to fire. then you will be smokin.

btw cranking engine over with injectors removed you will just refill cylinders with oil and fuel due to the injectors being out.

Thanks for everyones help in this project!! If FTE wasn't here I'd be stuck with a healthy bill and still all stock.
