5.0L V8 Upper intake plenum

Good morning!

I was wondering, what type of polish or cleaner would I use to clean the upper intake plenum on my 01 5.0L V8. I've seen some fully chromed ones on ebay, but man are those expensive!!!

I was thinking of some rim cleaner or some aluminum wash????

Engine Brite will get the grease and road grime off, and mag wheel aluminum cleaner will brighten it up. Cover anything you don't want to get wet and rinse it off completely.

I've heard of people spraying it with clearcoat paint so it's easier to clean afterwards.

Thanks for the feedback...

I've heard different stories on this, from taking the 'plenum' off and having it glass beaded to using sandpaper. I've decided to use Eagle One Aluminum wheel cleaner on it and that helped 90%. I'm also thinking of checking a few junk yards to see if I can't come across an intake like mine and doing the glassbeading...

Anyways, I'm cool for now or at least until Summer rolls around...
