M5OD bushing replacement

Is there any peticular reason why I can't just turn some bushings for this thing?
I havn't seen anything on here when people ask about aftermarket brass or metal bushings.

I'd rather turn a nice set and have it last, then use a nylon one again to have it break.

I can't see any reason that would not work if you have access to the equipment to do this. It definitly is an avenue I would have pursued if I had the equipment available.

per discussion with a mechanic, the idea is good, but with the cheep price of the part.
It sounds like its better just to use the nylon one.
