You know I have always been a firm believer in reading instruction that involve new parts. But this is down right frustrating... I am installing my disc brake conversion on my 64 F-100 and find out that I am missing 2 spacers and 2 of the bolts I have are 1/2 inch too short when I finally get the missing spacers. I read through the all steps, counted all my hardware, and even went as far as painting all the steering components that are pulled off in the process. Come to find out as I am looking at the brackets, there is a spacer missing off of both sides to keep the alignment in check. If you've ever installed a disc brake conversion you know the the steering knuckles need to be even with the spindles. I am at a dead stop now 6 hours into it and no parts stores open. Wait a minute Kragen is open. Yay for me, but the likelyhood that they will have spacers isn't very good. So anyways I am going to contact the kit manufacturer and see if they have the right parts to send. Sad part is its been a couple of years since I bought it due to back to back depoyments to Iraq. sigh Well hopefully they will be helpful. I'll post back later on and let you guys know if they do or if I find them locally. I do happen to have a set of backing plate and all the hardware if anyone is interested. I am posting an ad for them in a few minutes.
OK after talking to the parts vendor we got it all straightened out. Turns out the caliper brackets were stamped wrong. The left was marked right and vice versa. So now I am back in buisness and running with my conversion.
Dude thats funny, Agervating but funny. You would think that the "quality control" would have caught that before they left the building. Glad you got it sorted out.

Probably a 4 o'clock Friday kinda situation. Glad you got it sorted it out. That made me worry, since I got the kit last year and don't plan to put it on till this summer.
Actually it was a 11 pm Thursday after being up 18 hours. I am seriously glad I went to bed after that. I was thinking at that point I was going to have to break out the grinder. I did take some pictures that I will load Tuesday night to help prevent the misunderstanding I was suffering from. Once you see the brackets installed it is straight forward. The problem I was having involved placing them wrong on the spindle and opposite sides. Go figure. So anyways I will write some instructions explaining it better then the 2 pages that were provided. Including a better parts list. There are a few things that you don't find out about until after you are into the project.
I can honestly say I love the look of the disc brakes. I just can't wait to stop it for the first time after all the adjustments are made to the CPP master cylinder, here's the link... http://www.cpptalk.com/Hot.htm
The master cylinder has everything already built into it. I really like that idea to keep the engine bay and brake pluming "clean".
