I'm stumped, can't find simple part

I've looked all over the place and I can't find a valve cover oil filler cap with the stuff to accept the pcv valve. This is for a stock '73 360 (original valve covers). Ford no longer makes or stocks them, the aftermarket stuff I've been able to find doesn't fit. Please, someone provide me with a URL where I can buy one.

Thanks

There is a grommet that snaps into the valve cover in the filler cap hole that accepts the PCV valve. Or the filer cap off a 460 should also fit.

the push in grommets don't fit the oe covers. they only fit the aftermarket ones like edelbrock.

I tried Dennis Carpenter for $6. There was no picture, but the description was promising. If I am dissappointed, I'll try those two companies as well.

That's not true, I had a 1967 390 that had the grommet in the stock covers. The grommet twists in like the breather would and the PCV fits right into it.

I thought they twisted in on the originals too. I still have my old valve covers around. I'll try to find them tomorrow and have a look. If I still have the grommet and it's in good shape I'd be willing to drop it in the mail for you if you want.

I am a bit confused.
My valve covers are Ford covers and the PCV slips into a gromet on the passenger side valve cover and the breather/fill cap twist into the valve cover on the driver side. I think that they came off of a car with a 390 because they are chrome but none the less thye are Ford.

I Have also seen the one in question on newer trucks.

This also spiked a question.

Wouldn't it want to draw oil into the PCV valve beeing it pulls from the fill hole that doesn't have a baffle in it?
Or, is there a baffle on the valve covers with the single hole in the cover?

Thanks sylvia,

Since the valve covers are the same (left and right), I'm looking for a twist in "breather" that can accomodate a pcv valve. At this point, I'm open to suggestions. A pcv valve has to be in stream, but can't we all just play along?

If the "breather" has a hole for the PCV valve it is not a breather. It is acting like a oil separator to prevent oil fumes being drawn into the intake. There still needs to be a breather or fresh air intake in the other valve cover.

Hence the quotes. I don't know how to otherwise describe the part. Consider it the exhale part of breathing. Thanks.

Amazing what you can find in a paper catalog, instead of the blasted computer look up!!!!

I agree. I've also run across times where the guys at the parts house couldn't find what I needed without resorting to looking through the catalogs.
