Posted this yesterday but appears that it didn't get through.
Front springs on a F100 4wd may be too soft. Its 100miles of 4wd track from home to the hard top and the old girl made it no sweat from the city to the Tanami Track - 3500km (188miles!) but the corrugations, creek crossings and potholes have ripped one shockie straight through the top of the mount and the other is pretty well stuffed.
Thinking stiffer springs and heavy duty shocks. Any thoughts.
The old girl seems to just 'fall' into potholes. apart from that, on the road she's great.
I think stiffer springs will be really uncomfortable after a few miles of driving in the area you describe. Is it possible the wrong shocks were installed on the truck? I would weld up the mount and install a new set of shocks and see what happens.
