The HVAC system on my '83 F-150 recently started giving me problems. No matter what position the controls are on, the air only comes out the panel vents. I just need to find out where to start looking. I'm sure that either a vacuum hose has come off or one of the doors is stuck, but not sure what to look at first. Thanks for the help.
Sounds like the air distribution door or its' actuator is seen better days. It routes the air. Not a dealer repair, unless you have a CD you can cash in.
Try searching the forum......Fords are notorious for door problems. Even late model ones.
my 83 f-100 needed a new actuator. they are vaccum operated, so make sure the
hose going to the tee on the firewall is connected to the little vaccum tank (looks
like a black softball, and mounts on the passenger side). Sometimes the hose just
gets soft or kinks and the actuator isn't getting any vaccum.
