Need Help Identifying Rear Axle Type

I'm stationed in Korea so when I order parts I have to be exact to prevent long delays.

I've got a 1997 Ford F150 4.2 5 speed 4x2.
I noticed my rear axle seals are leaking a little.
I want to order a diff gasket and 2 new seals.
I thought the parts place would be able to tell my rear axle type off my VIN but they say they can't.

I need to ID the rear axle type.
What options were available on the 97?

Please help.

Thanks

Randy

how many bolts hold the cover on? 10 is an 8.8 and 12 is the 9.75.

If it's a 4.2, I'm willing to bet it's an 8.8" axle.

I'm sure you have an 8.8" but you might want to take a quick look on the rear end photo ID page on my web site listed below.
