Welcome to FTE Eudorian. There are many diff options out there. Do you want aluminized or stainless steel? Is interior resonance an issue? Cost? Layout (ie single stock, or dual out the back)? A good place to start is by using the 'search' function, and typing exhaust. I am quite certain you will find a number of threads that can help you out.
Whats up guys. I understand i am new here, but I have not seen anyone recomend Borla. I have a single in, dual out system on my 2006 5.4 and it sounds great in my opinion. just a thought.
To all those who claim Flowmasters "rob power", what do you have in the way of PROOF to backup this claim? SOTP dyno? Thought so. Most likely cause of any REAL power loss is using over-size or improperly installed piping IMO. Too many people think bigger is better but unless you have a monster motor, 2-1/2" duals are plenty, 3' max. I've had great luck with Flowmasters over the years, and have three vehicles with them right now. Love the sound and performance "seems" fine.
"What is your opinion of "H" and "X" pipes? Do they actually boost performance or have an effect on the powerband in any way?"
Just so all of you should know, I've posed this question to several of the major exhaust manufacturers and so far have only received rather evasive answers. I'm taking that as evidence that the use of these items is not a "for sure" power adder. Either way, I'll report back here with the results.
I have heard a LOt of people mention the drone with flowmasters .
I personally have the 40 series sido flowmaster on my 04 F150 larait screw with the 5.4 and i love it with the radio at a very low level you can't hardly hear the exhaust at all. even when i give it the gas.
By my seat of the pants dyno i will say that i think i did lose a VERY little bit of bottom end on this truck with the addition of this muffler but for the price and the quality of the work, I must say that I am VERY happy with my exhaust
I have flowmaster orginal 40 on mine, it's not loud enough, i'm switching to straight pipes, keep in mind i'm 15 years old.
How are you driving? I thought the only states that allowed 15 year olds to legally drive were like Montana and couple of other handful states. And I believe they are strickly for Farm Use and or school/work purpose...
What no Gibsons? I got the Gibson on mine and love the sound of it. Deep throaty sound when you gas it but does not drone while crusing. Any responses?
my friend has a Gibson on his Jeep TJ and it only sounds nice when he really gets on it. Not noticeable nor aggressive. I personally like Flowmaster better and my friend is SWITCHING over to Flowmaster. Again, personal preference, but I believe GIBSON is better quality of a muffler

I have my permit I have to drive with my mom or dad, but I get my license like 3 months
I put a KNOCKOFF flowmaster 40 on my screw 4.6. I believe it is an aeroforce1.
It is a 3" to dual 2.5" with dual tips exiting out behind the passenger tire.
I love the tone at idle and the sound when i get on it.
I think one of those models are the single in and dual out mufflers...And they are bent to come out the side..They look like what the Lightnings used to have. Real sleek looking
