Confussion about build dates???

Confussion about build dates???
I have an '05 truck...well I think I do. Ford sold it to me as an '05, and the window sticker says '05.
The door sticker (truck build date?) says 9-2004. I cant find the engine build date. I looked on the driver side valve cover and all there is a white sticker with a bar code and my vin number and some other numbers that can't resemble a date. (0226 /8192 /1).
I have to belive that the engine is a 2004 engine. So how can ford sell me a 2005 truck, with all 2004 components? Am I not correct in saying they made inprovements to the 2005's? Would my truck have these?
Any help would be appriciated.

If the month cutoff is 9/30, am I driving a 2003 model but was sold as a 2004 model?

Speaking of the build dates, When I went to change out my sport mirrors for towing mirrors, I noticed dated bar code stickers on the mounting plate for the mirrors...the right mirror had a date that was a friday, the left mirror had a date that was a monday. I kinda had to laugh at that one. Being able to tell exactly when the truck was put together.

I am also confused. The truck build date on the drivers door sticker and the vehicle invoice show a build date of 1/04, the engine build date code on the FICM is "040204", it does not matter how you read the code it shows the engine build date after the truck build date. I was concerned and had an OASIS run and showed no engine change. Just thought it was interesting.
