Does anybody have a part number for a cord from international or some other source? I asked my dealer about the cord ($93) yesterday while they were finishing up the warrenty work on my F-450 transmission (snap ring failure),and I thought it was overpriced. Thanks
Not sure what the list price was but mine was 40 bucks from my dealer. Might be cheaper from an International dealer. More than 20 bucks, likely. I think you're better off with the OEM cord. IMHO.
The plug on the engine is pretty easy to find, after all even I did it myself. Look on the pass side of the motor, just behind the tire. It should be easy to find. The hardest part for me was figuring out how to run the cord up to the front bumber. I ended up going to a local Ford lot and crawling under a new truck with the cord and looked at how it was run from fractory.
All engines have the block heater installed. Ford decided to not give you the cord in certain areas. The block heater is located right side, just above the starter.
Does anybody know if 04 have a heater. What or where should I be looking to find out?
Your 04 should have the cord you'll find it on the passenger side of the front bumper back behind by the fog light. They chose to make them optional in the 05-06 years so you should be ok.

I just found it and pulled on it to see how long it is and the cover came off. I put the cover back on, but was wondering how long it is. Is it just tied up in there or is it pretty short. Seems to me that it should at least hang out a little. It's pretty far up there.Just doesn't seem right.
Thanks, Kepler4
My Ford dealership sent me a cord Free today, He said they were never on the 6.0L deisel, I told him he was wrong and bet him a cord. I have already had an 03,and a 04 and both had cords on them from factory. I was looking for a way to put it on and that web site was great. http://www.forddoctorsdts.com/articl...icle-05-20.php
Dogs of war,
They aren't very long, but on my 03 it was tied with a couple of the plastic tie wraps. If you get under the truck, you can cut these and get a couple of inches out of it. That gives you enough play. I then tied mine to the tow hook so it was easy to get to. After the first winter I put the marinco plug on it. Made it easy to get to and looked better too.
