Question ? for guitar players

I am looking at buying a Walden acoustic electric guitar. Any of you have any experience with them? Pros/cons?

Never played a Walden guitar, but can tell you the Taylor acoustic guitar is one of the easiest best sounding acoustics I've ever played. Do your self a favor and go bye your local guitar center and try out a Taylor before you decide.
JMO of course!

Good luck

I have only played a Waldon in the store, it sounded nice and looked well build. But like any thing else you have to shop around, so go play lots of guitars and and see which one you like the best.

I like to advise against acoustic/electrics. I have a custom Ovation acoustic/electric. It sounds great, but unless you are performing, you dont really need the electric part. It does NOT sound or play like an electric guitar. Just saying that in case you didnt think about it. I would get an electric OR acoustic. If you are just starting, get acoustic. It will toughen up your fingers, and muscles. Most important, try not to focus TOO much on brand. Go to the music store, play a bunch in your price range, and pick the best sounding one. I have a 175 dollar Lone Star (early one) that sounds as good as or better than some of the 500-700 dollar martins.

I play out 2 or 3 times a month so I need an acoustic/electric. I have played several different brands and just feel that this is the best bang for the buck. I was just curious as to whether or not anyone else had any experience with them. They are a relatively new brand.

I personally have a Martin. I absolutely love it. However, I did buy her in the blind off of an internet add. I had my brother go and take a look and send me a digital pic to see if in good enough condition for me.

One thing I learned was that guitars all have their own sound and it is a very personal choice when shopping. I picked up another HD35 exactly like mine and it has some slight differences. Still very nice sound but a little bit different.

My suggestion to you is to go out and pick up each guitar you are considering, of what ever brand and styles you are considering, and make the choice based on only one thing. What feels and sounds good to you. Don't rule out Martin. Taylors are also very nice. Can't tell you anything about Walden as I haven't picked one up yet, but I will look around for one now that you have mentioned what you heard.

Side note: My buddy has one of the lower line Martins (approx $900) and his guitar sounds very impressive. It was one of the Mahogany ones with the super light finish. Easy to scratch but superb sound.

I have a LOTUS acoustic/electric. We spent hours getting to to play right, and playing with different strings to get to sound good. Now it rivals a takamine that I played out in st louis. They sounded identicle, but I paid $200 brand new for mine.

I'm a tightwad. I owned an electric. Then I traded it for an accoustic. I now have a Fender San Miguel. Not nearly the tone you'd get with a higher-end model, but good enough for my plunking around.
