1977 F-100 emission help

I am trying to smog my truck. The vacum lines are a mess and I desperately need an emission diagram. 302 A\T Calif. with a G VIN number. Someone please help me! My Haynes doesn't seem to
have it. Thank You---Steve

1977 F-100 emission help

check the Chilton's truck & van repair manual 1971-1978....there are a couple of drawings in there....otherwise, the ford dealer should have an archive of it....the dealer here does...

1977 F-100 emission help

Dog, some delears have the plumbing schematics, some don't. It all has to do with talking to the right counter person at the right time. Call around to different dealerships. I'm sorry but I can't help for your '77. It may be quite involved since you have A/C. Some books like Chilton's and Haynes have diagrams, but usually they are generic only giving basic diagrams that don't always match what you have (check your library). Haynes has a basic emission book that can help give you an overall picture of how the EGR, EVAP, EFE, and Thermactor system work. If you/someone hasn't removed the hard parts, it's just a matter of routing the plumbing correctly. If you're missing parts, start looking around at junk yards. Most emission related parts are hard to find with exception to a smog pump and EGR valve. Take one system at a time and be persitant finding help. This message board of Ford friends has been a big help finding the diagrams I needed. You may want to place a post in the engine forum yet, they're no where near as active as this one! It's a shame when someone removes all the goodies and doesn't take notes or keep the parts in safe keeping. I'm sure more people will be in the same boat as you and I as time passes (in some states).

Teraruby, thanks for the post. Two years ago my guy passed me on smog. They have tightened up on the rules as well as prosecutions, so this time around It's "everything in working order" All I need is one diagram one picture of the correct setup. The local dealer didn't have it. I'm getting ready to start stopping F-100's on the road to see if they're 302's.
