Washer fluid
1990 Ford ranger
Can't get water to flow from my windshield washer, the water tank is full but doesn't seem to work, doesn't make any sound what-so-ever, anyone know what the problem could be?

If your fuse is good you can hook up a test light to the plug for the washer pump and it should light up when you push the switch. If the system was working recently it probably is the pump gone bad.

get someone to stick their head under the hood and listen by the firewall. while you try and use the washer they should hear the pump, if nothing that would indicate a problem. your truck is sixteen yrs old so theres a good chance it is bad but not a big deal! sort of easy to fix. at least it was on my other vehicles.

The pump on my 91 runs, but it has like an impeller on it that is broke. This looks like a very fragile part of the pump. If your pump makes noise, but nothing comes out, check the impeller, of course you'll still have to change the pump
