Brandon, You may only need to swap in a new dash face. I am only guessing here, but the stop peg may be the only thing limiting it to 85mph. Can you cut the peg off??

In the cool still quite of night you can hear chevies rusting away.
There is no external stop the speedo is limited inside. The earlier speedos are geared differently to allow them to read to 100mph i believe. But it could also be geared differently through the speedo cable. Thats the part i dont know.

I found a new one for either a 75 or 76 that goes to 100MPH and installed in in my truck and it works fine. Hope this helps.

I originally had the 16L speedo in my truck transfer case. I have since went to my 35 inch tires and have since changed for the new tire size. But before it worked fine.

Any '73 through '79 Ford F100 to F250 speedometer cluster will interchange to your truck. Might as well look for one that has all 4 guages instead of two guages and two "check me" lights.

[font color=red size=2]I just read a tech article about swapping in a 100 mph speedo into a 79 Bronco (which would be the same as your pickup). Click on Hot 100 in the column to the right, go to Projectbronco.com and look at the tech articles, says its a direct swap.
