Routine maint. questions
Getting ready to do my first cycle of maintenace on my 96 F150 4X4 302 and have a few questions.(bought it used)
1) Automatic tranny fluid anything special here
2) front and rear diffs fluid change. It has the 3.55 LS What type of additive for the LS and does it have LS front also
3) Gear oil specs?

on the tranny , drain the torque converter also . as well as replacing the filter . you need around four ounces of friction modifyer in rear diff . the front axle could be ordered with ls , but very rare . check your manual for fluid types , if you have it .

take the small cover off between the trans and oil pan ( flywheel cover ) you can then see the bottom of your converter , there is a small plug on the converter , you may have to rotate the engine over ( by hand only ) using the crank bolt on engine , turn clockwise only , you need a 15 / 16 ths socket and racket , take out plug when it's on the bottom to drain . you will need at least 12 qts of atf for the complete change . yes the modifier is easily found , even ford has it

I'm going to be changing all my fluids tomorrow, I just bought a 5sp manual 5.0 4wd 1994 ext/cab with 150K. What weights (75w-90?) and approx how many quarts do I need to buy for both diffs, tranny, and transfer case?
