4:11 gears

I have a 84 F-150 with the straight 6 and a standard overdrive transmission. I have really high gears in the rearend right now I think they are 3:00. I have a posi unit out of another 9" that has 4:11's. I needed to make the switch for two reasons, One I will be hauling a car close to 300 miles, I figured the lower gears would help. Two, a posi unit would just kick ***. My question is what kind of a difference will it make in both my pulling ability and how badly will it effect my RPM's at 70MPH?

use this link and it will answer all questions. as long as you tranny has overdrive the 4.11's will be exelent but if no overdrive it will wind out at about 65.

If you go from 3.08 gears to 4.11, your rpm at a given speed will be about 25% higher.

If it spins too high, you can always get larger tires to bring it down.
