93 Ex Ford Vehicle Security System

As I was changing the brake light switch today I saw a box labeled Ford Vehicle Security System with antenna wire hanging from it. I have owned the vehicle for less than a month and the previous owner told me of a button that must be pressed to start the vehicle, there is also a red LED I assume both are part of the security system. Does anyone know if remotes are still available for this system as I got none with the vehicle also will the dealership have to program them or can they be self programmed. I did not see a model no. on the box but maybe I was looking in the wrong place. There is also a battery behind the glove box which I assume is for the system too. Thanks!

On my 02 explorer if I had one remote I could program another, If nobody can answer anything else does this apply to the older systems or does it just have adjustable switches inside the remote?

Ok, well hopefully someone can help me with this than. I found a website where I can buy an oe or aftermarket remote for a 93 explorer. However the remotes offered only have 3 buttons lock, unlock and panic. Looking at the module it appears there is also an alarm as there is a shock sensor connector and pin 2 on the accessory connector is for a siren. Would the lock button arm the alarm or should there be another button if there is an alarm?
