Will this lift combo work?

I have a 1991 F150 2WD. My intentions are as follows: Purchase Rough Country 6" lift - "Kit includes front coil springs, radius arm drop brackets, I-beam drop brackets, power steering pitman arm, 4 Heckethorn 8000 series shocks, u-bolts, and rear blocks." I would also buy extended brake lines. I would like to run 35's, truck is mainly a daily driver with some towing. I already know I would have to regear. Also I have the 8.8 rear axle, will that hold up?

Yea the 8.8 max is about 35's you can push 38's on there just no hard core stuff. You could get by with 3.73 but I would get the 4.10 just for the fact of towing.

As long as you do not use a after market locker, it will hold up fine (LSD's are okay) You want a 4.56 to 4.88 for towing minimum hear with 4.88 being better is load weighs more than a few thousand pounds.

4.10 for towing would be a joke with 35's as that is about that same as a 3.55 with stock tires and that is not a good tow gear before you even factor extra drag for tires and lift. People are hung up and 4.10 being great gears even for big tires.

Just a quicky queston not a highjack. When would you ever use 5.54 gears?

Should I expect any problems down the road with that lift kit. I plan on keeping this truck many many years. Honesltly the whole point of this is for a better stance.

The only thing I would change on that kit is add a leaf instead of blocks in the rear and you will keep that truck a long time. Just keep her well maintaned and she will never give a big problem we all have hicups though

With some 44's or so. Better have a beefy rear axle though to handle the axle and housing strain from them.

if the blocks are six inchs you could probably get away with doing a shackle flip and add-a-leaf, and that would be pretty close.

hey i just installed a 6" rough country lift on my 88 f150 with 35" tires. it came with everything for the front and came with both blocks and add a leafs. check out my gallery. i have 355 gearing and yeah i lost some power but seriously its not bad. i can still spin all 4 wheels in the mud and on the street i still spin the rears. eventually i will get gears but as of now i am happy. and it is a daily driver.
