Exhaust

Here is an odd one, I an gonna get into an exhuast next payday, I want a good flowing unit but QUIET in the cab.. Is there such a thing? I'm looking for one wtih a 3.5" DP so I don't loose my low-speed spoolup.

Use an Aeroturbine resonator/muffler up close to the downpipe and eliminate the stock muffler with a delete pipe. You'll get awesome performance and mostly stock quiet. Remember, inproving exhaust flow is always going to increase sound some but with the Aeroturbine you won't have the annoying drone in the cab.

The Aeroturbine will eliminate that drone. I'm not sure though who makes a system with a 3.5" DP. Someone posted one here not too long ago. It might be tedious, but try running a search on the site for the 3.5" DP.

I think losing low end torque because of a big downpipe is a myth. The turbo already gives a lot of backpressure.
Might be something wrong with the programming of your truck. Mine is torque from idle on up.

I agree with kwikk, I installed a 4" turbo back on my 99, and there is no noticable power loss that I can tell.

There was a memeber here several weeks ago that was switching back and forth to see which DP he liked better, 3.5" or 4" DP. He had a mildly modified truck, and ended up settling on the 3.5" DP. Had more torque and better driveability, if I remember correctly. I'll try to find the thread and post a link.
