Bend the pins a little and reconnect and retry, check your other post for a jiggy on this and good luck.

I he is talking about the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) on a 4.0 1993 Ranger.

He mentioned a no-spark condition so diesel engine is out. Many refer to crank position sensor as ckp on gassers. Ford calls it VRS variable reluctance sensor on EDIS6 systems. On a 4.0 it's diametrically opposed from #8 in the diagram.

Sorry for the edit, I did not think anybody would come back that fast.

I would say you have one of the three things listed below.
1. Bad Plug or Wire.
2. Bad CKP Sensor
3. Ckp sensor to far away from ring.

Well, you are right on top of it, and pretty much have it narrowed down. It's going to be one of the problems subford mentioned. You need to get a good light, and being very watchful, take the plug off the sensor and inspect everything you can to see if you can spot the problem. You never know, the problem might be the connections on the sensor itself.

Or, if you could buy that part of the harness, and a new sensor, that would probably fix it without worrying about what the real problem was.
