Question

Funny.....I was wondering the same thing about my audiophile system. I am curious if the stock sub could can be beefed up a bit? I have the six disk changer as well....the amp must be under the rear seat with the sub?

calicojack- yes u can i did it to my 2005 6-disc and it was ez. go to the audio forum and look at the post called(doing it right??!!) it contains a chart that will tell you which wires to use etc... u will have to buy a little hi/lo converter so u can use rca jacks to run to the amp.

you can also just buy an amp that has a high level input already built in. that is what i did and i have 2 amps installed on the stock 6 disc.

Easy deal, get a wiring diagram for the stereo, go to best buy, get an inverter for using the factory headunit, tap it into the RH and LH power feed, run the RCA jacks into the unit which is about $25, then run those to the amp, get you a nice 20 dollar amp kit from walmart, i rigged my remote wire to my existing toggle switch panel, ran all down the driver side under the sill plate, ground wire went behind the rear panel to a window stud, and then hook up the speaker wires. easy as pie.
