I got a stock 400 that is going to have a mild cam and I got a 750 edlebrock that will go on it once I get a intake. I know the carb is a little big but Its the only one I got. I was going to put some headers on most likly headman since they seem pretty resaonable and 3 in duals exiting out behind the cab. The mufflers would mostly be some glass pack or some cheap free flowing. Is this to big for a 400 will it hurt anything?
Okay got any idea on what I should run then , I thought it would be okay but I am just taking from what I read is some forums so I dont really know for sure just guessing any recomandations would be welcomed I like the way they look come out right behind the cab
I am restoring the truck but always thought that the big exhaust looked good but I dont want to ruin a complete exhaust just because I put to big of one on and I may end up running it all the way back been thinking maybe right behind the cab isnt that great of an idea even if I think it looks cool
It's up to you how you want to run the exhaust. If you dump it under the cab, you will more than likely get an irritating drone in the cab. You could go with 3" tips if you want that bigger look.
I had a 79 F-150 4x4 with a 400, had headers and dual 2.5 pipe with no mufflers, had it exit right between the cab and the bed. The truck ran awesome, only problem was my wife could not roll her window down because it was too loud. I loved it though.
