O/T I need welding help
I haven't welded anything in over 40 years,I need to weld some 1 in. steel square tubing and need help.
I have an oxy-ace setup with torches. I used the cutoff torch last week and did okay. What do I set the pressure to weld mild steel and what do I use for welding rod? Do I need flux? Tip size?
I sure could use any input and advice

3 psi for both regulators, start with acetelyne by itself and introduce oxygen for a neutral flame.
An R45 welding rod would certainly be a decent choice, assuming mild steel and not stainless.
The tip size depends on the thickness of the steel. You didn't mention the wall thickness of the square tubing.
1/16" - 1/8" wall tubing you could use a #2 tip and a 5/32" diameter R45 rod.
1/8" - 3/16" wall tubing you could use a #3 tip and a 3/16-1/4" diameter R45 rod.
