352 Knock is back

well it's getting a bit more pronounced now..it makes more noise when in gear (forward) with brake on..if I put it in (N) it cannot be heard from inside truck..but in gear it's a good solid knock..it seems to come from the front left corner..if it's a wrist pin..what are the options? I just dont have $$ / time to mess with it at the moment.

if its a wrist pin. the damage is big. i had 2 go out in my 360 from the PO using cast iron clips instead of high tensile steel. it dug a 1/4'' groove in the wall until it went into the water jacket.

Try some heavier oil and take it easy until it can be fixed.

My brother had a wrist pin going out in an old 360 he was running. From what I hear he drove it like that for quite a while, until the affected piston broke a skirt off.

I need to put a light on it, and see if the knock is top or low end related...I'll try tomorrow..
gashog... on your 352 rebuild what kinda $$ you into before it's done do you think ?

well i am going for the poor white mans rebuild.


gasket kit + freeze plugs 58.00

rings 60.00

bearings 63.00

valve spring compressor 27.00

ring compressor 11.00

misc 70.00

the heads are still the one big thing i have not tackled. i have decided to skip the FT heads and do something with the C8AE heads.
