This weekend I got a rebuild kit for my E4OD and I was going to give it to a good firend to rebuild. I went to his house and I got the notion I could do it myself. So I ask for his manual for the tranny. Its an old school manual like FEW pics at all. So I had my work cut out for me. So I crack it open and start the stuff. I had to stop at one point cause I cracked a socket on it. once I got a new one I started again and worked for about 6 hours before I had to stop cause I was too cold (no heater in the shed). I will post the pics of the clutches and such and throw out bearing. I was surprised that it even shifted for god sakes. but I get her back together and have it dyno'd before I put it back on the truck. It runs well and shifts well. Back story I just turned 18 and Ive NEVER rebuilt a tranny or motor or axle by myself. Ive only assisted people. I did it against my dads will and ended up saving him about a grand on this bad boy. I drove it today to school. Im really happy and kinda swole with pride. Couldnt help but post.
My dad was like "I dont want you in there you will mess something up" He doesnt think I have the ability to do most of this stuff. Im one of those kinda people who can read and do what is said in the text. I can teach my self very fast. So I was up for the challenge but my dad before he went out of town this weekend said "dont be in there". Iunno me and him dont see eye to eye. but in other words I successfully did it. I want to rebuild this engine I have but he keeps saying that all the bolt on the exhaust mani and the intake break off and such and wont let me. So we shall see how it goes.
