Thanks, jdog

Some people like those Cheby style wobble rockers but I prefer the stability of the pedestal mount rockers. They are cheaper in the long run because no machining is required or hardened pushrods or guideplate$ to try to control those wobble rockers. Not that Ford didn't use their share of wobble rockers but they did get smarter after a while.

Nice pic of engine bay, 53fatfndr, Rollers are not same ratio as big block cheby. Chevys are 1.7, FoMoCo's are 1.73 As far as rollers go, I like the Harland Sharps

I used the Crane conversion kit for 351M/400/429/460 engines... It fit great, and I went with the BBC 1.72 Crane gold rockers. Stock covers didn't fit with my setup, I went with bling bling SVO covers as well. It looks damn good though...

I put the Crane system in my heads. The instructions for the guideplate and stud kit said to use 1/2 by 4 1/2 allen head bolts for the row under the guideplates.

That would sure make life easier..but I run ARP studs on all our blocks. Does Crane sell the socket-head head bolts?..

Check your yellow pages for bolts or fasteners.

I live in southeast Ohio, coal and steel. We have a company which supplys fasteners to these industries. My supplier told me the bolts would be stronger than automotive grade 8.
Good call, Torque1st.

Put some good hardened and ground washers under them also. They are available from the same places.

I couldn't find the appropriate Allen Socket for the head bolts, I went with Ford replacement head bolts.

Just curious, how did you all pay for the bolt in rockers?

As i just picked up an aussy set of roller rockers for a 400 (pedestal mount), granted i will have to machine the heads, but i already have to machine the heads for the taller valve springs i'll be using, so hopefully we'll be able to machine everything so stock pushrods can be used.

No machining is required for the Scorpion or Ford Motor Sport pedestal mount rockers. They are around $200 a set.

No kiddin around Cody, those Pro Golds are spendy, I paid 379 I think... I've got over $1000 in the heads alone on this 400... I'm thinking about going with the CHI 2V heads on a future 351M build... since I have a 358" limit now...
