The klunkfrom beneath
I took my 05 F250 FX4 to the dealer for the recall and asked him to see what that klunk from beneath the floor was. His answer was the air conditioner door was opening to control moisture, even when it was cold out, and causing the klunk. It was aircondX related because if I turn it off it quits kunking.Anyone ever hear this before? I didn't think it worked that way.

I heard the clunk for the first (and only) time the other day after my truck had been sitting for a few days. Posted here and the general consensus was that it was the door closing (or opening...) If you are able to recreate it, and it stops if the air is off, I would say that is what it is.

Thanks, The klunk does stop with A/C off. Now I don't really have that problem because the A/C display went dark and is inop. Dealer said bring it in and we will order one. They can't just order one, they have to see the ser # on mine. It's going to be a couple of cold weeks I'm afraid. They said they have a lot of trouble with these.

I have the climate control in my 05, a couple months ago it went totally dead, no lights on it and you couldn't get anything to work. They checked it out and had to order a whole new unit that goes in the dash, in two days they had it and in the truck, OK so far.
