Okay so i've been having these problems for some time now. I have a 1998 expedition 5.4L. Awhile back it began idling pooring when I was stopped. Next it began to die at stop lights and such. I did some research and replaced the IAC, air filter and fuel filter. That didnt seem to help much and then it started surging some while driving. Next we replaced the MAF and found a vaccum leak and it seemed to fix the problem though on a slight occasion it would still surge a little bit while driving but I hadnt noticed it doing it in months. I took it into jiffy lube to get the oil changed and as soon as i left i noticed it was surging again. I dont know what they did exactly but ive been having problems ever since again. the check engine light came on and it threw the code p0102. I dont see how it could be the maf again as it is new. I'm thinking the tps maybe? I really have no idea so any help would be appreciated. thanks. oh and also it makes a strange sort of hissing noise after I turn the engine off. I have no idea why.
By the code you provided I might guess the wiring has been disconnected to the MAF; pehaps when th Jiffy Lube folks were checking the air filter? If you replaced the MAF yourself (pricey item BTW) you know where to check. If not, let us know.
