violent down shift

have a89 with the 302 have had this problem with the bronco for a while let me see if i can explain here go,s whenever i driving at highway speed and start to go up hill whenever the trans shifts down it jerks violently in the seat of my pants live in okla and recently drove to detroit and back1000 mi each way this is my second round trip in acouple of months and plan on returning in a few weeks this is starting to annoy me have replaced all u joints also new centering bearing changed diff fluid, changed trans fluid,and transfer fliud checked pinionnut it is tight.anybody else have this problem ooh. also greased slip joint.mine has a grease zerk thanks

When you changed the trans fluid, did you drain the torque converter or no? Have you checked for any codes.......oh and what trans are we talking about here???

Yes, its important to know what tranny it is, if you have a vaccum shift modulator on it, That would be the first thing to check in my opinion, but thats just my 2 cents

streetgang yes torque converter was drained. also sorry
forgot to mention its the aod trans, no codes

With an AOD it could be a TV cable/linkage adjustment although I can't recall right now if thats even possible.
