Here's a few tips from a truck driver;
1.on a multilane highway-SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT!
2.never ride next to a semi,especially the tires.They inflate to 100psi.I've seen 'em blowout next to a car,it peppered the side like a shotgun.
3.Use your turn signals more than 10 feet before you turn off.
4.unless you are loaded and can't,maintain your speed.
5.if you can't talk on the phone and drive at the same time-DON'T.
6.Make sure your tailights work.
7.if you're not sure where you're going,don't get in front of everyone and then try to figure it out.
8.if you pass your exit/turnoff,don't stop and cause a 15 car pileup-go to the next exit/turnoff.
9.be ready for that other car to do the stupidest thing imaginable,because it will.
10.Don't fall into the "road rage"frame of mind.I curse in my truck daily,but I won't flip people off,honk,hi-beam,shout out or play the really stupid "brakelight tap" game.You really don't know this person(or their frame of mind,the day he/she had,etc) and to me it's not worth getting shot or wrecked to find out.
11.Finally,please pay attention.I know it's hard if you have 3 kids with you,eating a burrito,talking on the phone,changing the cd,scolding the kids,and shifting gears.Make the environment around your vehicle top priority,leave the rest till you can get to it.

One great thing about Fords is you can start up in second gear which is great in icy conditions. You're not using all that torque and spinning.

When driving a semi truck, passing can be difficult. I use this simple method. And anyone can do this if your vehicle is big enough. Simply proceed to pass and if the person you are passing speeds up to your passing speed, then at this moment you turn on your signal light and count to five and then come over, don't bother looking in your mirror they will get out of the way. Passing made easy!

1) when entering into a skid, look for and focus on the horizon. You'll find it's easier to regain control and direction.
2) On curves, once past the apex of one turn, focus on the entrance to the next turn. Makes the setup much easier.
3) If caught sliding out of control, never look towards an obstacle you're trying to avoid. You will naturally steer towards it. Always look towards the direction you want to be going.
4) Using your brakes in a corner wastes energy. Slow down before the corner, power out when you have the apex in sight.
